In Ostendis, you can decide whether you want to permanently delete or archive a job. Both options have different effects – both on the data and on subsequent access.
Delete Job
To delete a job, go to “Jobs + Applications” in the menu bar. In the overview, you will find an “X” to the right of each job – click on it to delete the job.
If applications have already been received for this job, a query will appear asking what should happen to them. You can choose between:
Archive applications without attachments in the candidate pool
Archive applications completely in the candidate pool
Move applications to the trash
Important: If you want to save applications in the candidate pool, you must obtain the consent of the applicants!
Note: A deleted job is completely removed from the system – including all data and statistics. It cannot be restored.
👉 Therefore, we generally recommend not to delete jobs, but to archive them.
Archive Job
To archive, you also click on the right side in the job overview, but this time on the lock icon instead of the “X”.
Here too, the same selection options regarding existing applications will appear.
The decisive advantage:
The job remains in the system
It can still be viewed via the “Show Completed Jobs” button
Statistics and reporting data are preserved
The job can be reactivated or duplicated later
💡 Recommendation: Archive jobs instead of deleting them – this way you retain access to all data and can easily re-advertise positions if needed.
