An HTML job ad is the foundation if you want to publish jobs directly on your own website, on job platforms via interfaces, or, for example, in the RAV Job-Room.
đź’ˇ Recommendation:
Create a **separate job (e.g., “Ad Template”)** for your templates. This allows you to manage your templates centrally and easily adjust them as needed.
How to create an HTML job ad:
Go to the desired job and open the “Ads & Publication” tab. Click on “New Ad”, select HTML Ad, and click “Create”.
Then select one of the existing templates. These serve as a basis and make it easier for you to get started, as you don’t have to start from scratch.
Adjusting content (simple mode):
In simple mode, you can edit the content directly:
- Replace images: Double-click on the image → select or upload media
- Adjust text: Click on the text and overwrite it
You can open a preview at any time via the eye icon to check your job ad.
Inserting content from Word
When copying text from Microsoft Word into an HTML job ad, it is important to use the designated function. Word carries its own formatting, which can lead to display issues in the HTML ad.
Here’s How to Proceed:
- First, click in the desired content area of the ad (e.g., in a list or a text block)
- The editing bar will then open. Click on the Word icon there.
- Now paste your text into the corresponding field and confirm the entry
- This ensures the content is transferred cleanly, without unwanted formatting from Word
Adjusting layout and design (advanced mode):
For more detailed adjustments, switch to advanced mode. Here you can customize the ad individually:
- Change colors via the Style Manager (brush icon) → "Decoration"
- Adjust fonts and sizes under "Typography"
- Optimize spacing under "Size"
- Delete or move elements (e.g., logos or blocks)
- Insert additional content via "+" (e.g., text blocks, icons, videos)
Make sure that images are set correctly (e.g., width 100%) so that they are displayed cleanly on all devices.
Inserting links in advanced mode (at minute 7:06 in the video):
In advanced mode, you can embed links directly in the text. To do this, highlight the text section you want to link.
Then click on the link icon (paperclip) in the toolbar. A settings window will open where you can paste the desired URL.
Optionally, you can specify that the link opens in a new window. Then save your adjustment – the text is now linked accordingly.
Using Ostendis blocks:
Ostendis blocks are structured content areas in the HTML ad that are assigned specific attributes.
These attributes are important so that external platforms and job boards can read and interpret the ad correctly. For example, they recognize which section contains the tasks, requirements, or the corresponding headings.
These blocks are defined and edited in the advanced mode of the editor. In the free ad templates from Ostendis, these blocks have already been correctly defined.
Why are Ostendis blocks important?
By using correctly defined blocks, you ensure that:
- Content is displayed correctly on job platforms
- Individual areas (e.g., tasks, requirements) are correctly assigned
- Your ad can be processed cleanly from a technical standpoint
Without this structure, content may be displayed incorrectly, incompletely, or not at all on external platforms.
đź’ˇ Tip:
Work with a clear structure and stick to your corporate design as much as possible. This ensures that your job ads look professional and consistent.
