To publish open positions in the RAV Job Room and fulfill the Swiss job registration requirement, the following steps are necessary:
1. Registration in the Job Room
Register on arbeit.swiss via the IAM ALV system. For this, you need:
- A personal email address
- Your personal number (found on the invitation to the conversation)
- Internet access and a mobile phone for verification
2. Check Job Registration Requirement
The registration requirement applies to occupations with an unemployment rate of at least 5%. You can find a current list of affected occupations on arbeit.swiss.
Exceptions to the registration requirement:
- Internal transfers within the company (with at least 6 months of company affiliation)
- Hiring of family members or for assignments under 14 days
- Hiring of job seekers who are already registered with the RAV
3. Perform Job Registration
Report open positions directly in the Job Room, by phone, or in person at the responsible RAV. The registration must include the following information:
- Description of the sought-after profile
- Details about the position: field of activity, employment relationship, workload, start date, work location
- Employer information: name and address
4. Observe Waiting Period
After registration, the position is published for 5 working days exclusively in the protected area of the Job Room – visible only to RAV-registered job seekers. During this time, the position may not be publicly advertised or filled.
5. Review Applications
Within 3 working days, you will receive placement suggestions from the RAV. Review the applications and forward suitable candidates directly to the Ostendis system via the Import Service. Then, provide feedback to the RAV on which applicants were invited or hired.
6. Publication After Waiting Period
After the 5 exclusive days, you can publicly advertise the position or publish it on other platforms if no suitable applicants were found.
💡 Tip: The RAV supports you with questions. You can find detailed information on arbeit.swiss or at your responsible Regional Employment Center (RAV).
